Bineeth Kuriakose er postdoktor ved Institutt for journalistikk og mediefag. Hans nåværende forskning befinner seg i skjæringspunktet mellom kunstig intelligens og undersøkende journalistikk, hvor han utvikler KI-drevne metoder og verktøy for å hjelpe journalister med å avdekke komplekse saker. Arbeidet har et sterkt fokus på transparens, pålitelighet og menneskesentrert design.
Han har en doktorgrad innen de tverrfaglige feltene kunstig intelligens og menneske-maskin-interaksjon fra OsloMet – storbyuniversitetet. Med et hovedfokus på menneskesentrert kunstig intelligens (Human-Centered AI), har han tidligere forskningserfaring med bruk av KI innen tilgjengelighetsteknologi, helse og utdanning. Arbeidet hans forener ekspertise innen menneske-maskin-interaksjon, maskinlæring, datasyn, naturlig språkbehandling og datavisualisering, drevet av en dyp interesse for samfunnsnytte og innovasjon.
Som anerkjennelse for sitt bidrag til samfunnsrelevant tverrfaglig forskning, mottok han OsloMets pris for lovende forsker i 2025.
