Jeg er manuellterapeut og professor i muskelskjeletthelse ved Institutt for rehabiliteringsvitenskap og helseteknologi og medlem av forskningsgruppen Aldring, helse og velferd. Jeg er spesielt interssert i forskning innen kvinnehelse, aldring og kronisk muskel- og skjelettsmerte. Mine forskningsprosjekter baseres hovedsakelig på epidemiologiske data fra befolkningsundersøkelser (Den norske mor, far og barn-undersøkelsen, Tromsøundersøkelsen og HUNT) med kobling til nasjonale helseregistre. Jeg benytter også data fra over 500 000 kvinner i Mammografiprogrammet for å studere faktorer av betydning for kvinners alder ved menopause, samt helsekonsekvenser forbundet med tidlig eller sen menopause. Min undervisning ved OsloMet er hovedsakelig knyttet til kvantitativ forskningsmetode, muskelskjeletthelse og aldring. I tillegg veileder jeg på PhD kandidater og masterstudenter.
