Vibeke Sjøvoll jobber som kunstner/lærer/forsker ved Institutt for produktdesign ved OsloMet. Sjøvoll har doktorgrad i kulturstudier fra Universitetet i Sørøst-Norge. Hun har studert ved Statens kunstakademi i Oslo og har en mastergrad i kunst fra Glasgow School of Art. Avhandlingen Creating, uncreating and recreating, experimenting together with students, things and processes in design education tematiserer forholdet mellom kunst og forskning og kunst, design og utdanning. I sin forskning eksperimenterer hun med og tematiserer relasjonene mellom den materielle verden og den sosiale verden, mellom utdanning og verdier og praksis og forskning. Andre viktige temaer i hennes undervisning er estetikk, lek og kreativitet som omsorg og engasjement, materialitet og kulturforståelse, stedsspesifikke kunstpraksiser og kritiske perspektiver i kunst og design.
