Hans forskningsinteresser er blant annet innen forbedring av pålitelighet og transparens av maskinlæring-, forsterkende læring- og dype lærings-modeller ved utvikling av metoder innen modelltolkning, usikkerhetskvantifisering, robust statistikk og kausal inferens.
