Rebecka Dalbye

Kort om

Rebecka Dalbye implemented and completed a national multicentre cluster randomized trial with more than 7000 women as her PhD project and published the main results in The Lancet in 2019.  The topic for this research project was labour progression and optimizing care to reduce unnecessary interventions in labour. From 2023 she leads The Norwegian WHO Labour Care Guide trial: a stepped wedge multicentre cluster randomised trial for safety and wellbeing in labour.

Her research interest focus on labour progression and optimizing labour and birth care. Furthermore, the practice of routine over-medicalization of normal pregnancy and childbirth, which includes the unnecessary or incorrect use of non-evidence-based interventions, is of particular interest. The goal of her research is to reduce unnecessary and harmful interventions in childbirth.

She has her PhD from OsloMet (2019), and her Master degree in Reproductive and Perinatal health from University of Gothenburg (2010).

Rebecka Dalbye is a member of the Research Talent Development Program at OsloMet, a 75% position for one year.

At OsloMet, she is supervising students at the Master program in Midwifery.
