Peyman Mirtaheri er professor ved MEKv ved OsloMet og adjunkt professor ved fakultet for Medisinsk Teknologi (Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, Michigan Tec, USA (https://www.mtu.edu/biomedical/people/faculty/).
Han underviser faget medisinske sensororer og aktuatorer i ACIT-Biomedical Engineering programmet( ACIT4720).
Han er leder av optisk/NIRS lab som ble etablert siden 2009. Hans forskning går ut på:
1)Utvikling av måleteknikker for å detektere hjerneaktiviteter
2) Anvendelse av eksisterende teknolgier som fNIRS og EEG til å utforske bevegelse og balase og aktiviteter i hjernebarken.
Han har også initiert og er leder for ADEPT ( Advanced health inteligence and brain inspired technologies) forskningsplatformen som har forskere fra fakultetene Teknologi, Kust og Design- og Helsevitenskap ved OsloMet.
