About
Hilde A. Aamodt is a professor of social work. Her research areas include child welfare investigations, child welfare measures, care orders, contact between children in public care and their parents, and child and family centers.
Aamodt is a qualitative researcher. In her analyses, she makes particular use of systems theory rooted in the work of Niklas Luhmann.
Aamodt is leading three research projects: Care orders from a parental perspective. Contact between children in public care and their parents, and Child and family centers – investigations to help whom?
In 2018, she received OsloMet's Working Environment Award. From 2019 to 2022, she has been editor of the journal Fokus på familien (Focus on the Family).
Aamodt teaches at bachelor's, master's and PhD level.

The main purpose of this study is to develop knowledge about child welfare care orders.

Decisions on contact between parents and children in child welfare care measures
The main purpose of this study is to develop knowledge on how child welfare employees and County Social Welfare Boards assess and justify the organization and extent of contact between children, siblings and parents after a care measure.
