About
May-Britt Solem is a Professor of Social Work at OsloMet. She earned her PhD from the Department of Psychology at the University of Oslo (UiO) in 2011 with the dissertation titled “Parenting Stress and Coping Practices: A Salutogenic Approach.”
Solem has authored and edited three academic books/anthologies:

Solem holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and has completed further education in family therapy. She developed the later Master’s program in family therapy, has led the program, and has served as coordinator since 2008. She has also developed and led the course Mental Health Conditions, and has taught salutogenesis, coping, critical realism, and facilitated workshops in the master’s clinic, including dialogue meetings with the field of practice.
Solem’s expertise encompasses professional practice, teaching, and research in social work. Her research interests and methodological expertise include parenting practices and parental stress, MMD, mixed methods, and longitudinal methodology.
