Anne Birgitta Nilsen holds a doctorate in linguistics and has specialized in discourse analysis. In recent years, she has researched hate rhetoric and extremism, where she has analyzed large data from social media in interdisciplinary groups. Nilsen has also published in the field of interpreting in the public sector and especially interpretation for children and interpretation from text to speech.

DARE – Dialogue about Radicalisation and Equality
The project investigates how young people aged between 12 and 30 respond to messages and agents of radicalisation.

Mapping hateful utterances about Muslims on Norwegian Social Media
Based on analyses of big data from Norwegian social media the project aims to map hate speech about Muslims. The project will also conduct a meta-analysis of existing knowledge about hate speech about Muslims.

To touch and be touched: Communication and interaction in physiotherapy practice
Touch as a therapeutic tool is essential in physiotherapy practice and used for various therapeutic purposes.
