About

Dr. Hanne Torjusen is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Consumption Research Norway, Oslo Metropolitan University. Torjusen is a nutritionist with a particular interest in the health and sustainability issues of consumption practices and food and fiber systems. Her doctoral thesis (UiO, 2022), based on data from the Norwegian Mother, Father, and Child Cohort Study (MoBa), describes characteristics associated with consumption of organic food among pregnant women and the potential impact of organic food consumption during pregnancy on the risk of developing pre-eclampsia in the women, and hypospadias and cryptorchidism in their male babies. Other previous research includes multidisciplinary, international collaborations, such as the EU-funded projects Welfare Quality, Organic-PLUS, Strength2Food and FOOdIVERSE. She is currently engaged in Amazing Grazing, a Norwegian project on sustainable meat and wool from sheep rangeland grazing systems.
