About
Elisiv Bakketeig is cand.jur. ( master in law) and dr.philos (criminology) from the University of Oslo, Faculty of law. She has two main research areas; Violence and abuse and child welfare services.
Her phd was about how the criminal system handle cases of child sexual abuse. Other research areas are domestic violence (preventive measures, shelters, barnehus, interagency collaboration, and the criminal system).
She has also done several studies related to child welfare services involving foster care, residential care and home based measures. Children's participation and children growing out of care/after care are areas of special interest.

This project is a national evaluation of the Norwegian Barnahus model.

Knowledge on Technology-facilitated Sexual Abuse against Children and Adolescents – Offenders, the Offended, and Arenas
The project will generate new knowledge about sexual abuse of children and adolescents, with the main emphasis on technology-facilitated sexual abuse.

The Barnahus Model: Developmental Trends and Institutional Tensions
Based on the Norwegian and international barnahus models, this project will explore how the barnahus model has developed and changed over time, as well as the institutional tensions that permeats the barnahus operation.

The Domestic Violence Research Programme
The programme studies time trends in the prevalence of violence and assault, violence as phenomenon, and how violence is approached by the welfare- and justice systems.
