About
Spjelkavik is carrying out a wide range of working life research, such as work inclusion, job development and job retention. He has undertaken research on models, organizational forms, labor market measures and methods related to participation in working life.
He has led several projects on work inclusion and has worked closely with the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV) and employers, on the development of inclusion skills competence. His core competence is policy-oriented formative evaluation, research and development and action research. He has led and participated in multi-disciplinary research teams in several national and international projects.
Spjelkavik has published several research reports, articles, books and book chapters, and is a respected speaker to a wide range of audiences.

This research project aims to develop new knowledge about how small and medium sized enterprises (SME) can contribute successfully to the sustained workplace inclusion of vulnerable ‘hard-to-place’ citizens, and can be supported effectively in doing so.

The WINS project focuses on how work inclusion may improve the social inclusion of migrants within comparative urban settings.
