About
Maria Brennhovd is assistant professor i pedagogics at the department of Early Childhood Education since 2017. She teaches topics within mentoring/counselling, leadership, pedagogy and is involved in work with exchange/internationalization and in the initiative Mentoring for newly qualified teachers. She is a course leader for mentoring/counselling education and Bachelor's assignment abroad and leader of a pilot on practical exchange earlier in the course of study. She has led and participated in many different projects within what is now called Collective Competence Development in Kindergarten, in partnership with kindergartens. Her research interests include mentoring, leadership, diversity, internationalization, the physical environment of kindergartens and parental cooperation.
Maria is a qualified kindergarten teacher from DMMH, holds a Master's degree in Kindergarten Pedagogy from HiOA, Mentor/Counselling education from Diakonhjemmet University College, Coaching education from OsloMet and Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from OsloMet. She has over 20 years of experience of working in various positions in the kindergarten field, such as educational leader, support teacher for children with special needs, professional supervisor and advisor in the municipality.
