Sigrun Henjum

About

A professor in Public Health Nutrition and a clinical nutritionist, world traveler with experience in nutritional epidemiology from Algeria, Argentina, Vietnam, Nepal and with several international contacts. Her publications span several research fields within maternal and child nutrition, child growth and development, iodine excess and deficiency, malnutrition, dietary research, breastfeeding, micronutrients, the right to adequate food, and food security. She has projects on monitoring of iodine in the Norwegian population, revisiting the WHO methodology of nutritional iodine, in addition to an EU project on knowledge of iodine in young European women. She has been working with food insecurity among asylum seekers and elderly in Norway and dietary intake and micronutrients deficiencies in vegetarians and vegans. At OsloMet Sigrun is the head of the research group Public Health Nutrition and head of the Health Science Research Program. She is also supervising master and PhD students.
