Siv Lund er utdannet faglærer i kroppsøving, og har hovedfag fra Norges idrettshøgskole. Lund har arbeidet i høyere utdanning siden 2011. Før det arbeidet hun 10 år i videregående skole. Lund sin forskningsinteresse er knyttet til barns lek og selvbestemt fysisk aktivitet og hvordan legge til rette for barns fysisk aktive lek. Hun underviser og veileder studenter på både kroppsøving i lærerutdanningen og på faglærerutdanningen i kroppsøving og idrettsfag. Lund sin undervisning er i hovedsak knyttet til svømming og livredning, friluftsliv, ballaktiviteter og barns fysiske utvikling og trening.
