Psychiatric nurse with a master degree in nursing science and a PhD in clinical medicine. Employed as a professor at OsloMet, but has worked in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry in Oslo for many years. International experience from the University of California San Francisco, where I spent one year during my doctoral research. Conducted research on hygiene and infection prevention at Columbia University New York for two years. Currently working on health and quality of life in children, adolescents, and adults in difficult and vulnerable situations. Leading the projects Alternative social support, Hand hygiene, infection prevention, and antibiotic use in nursing homes, and Sleep in parents with sick children in and out of the hospital. Teaches and mentors students at the bachelor, master, and doctoral levels. Head of the reseach group Qualiy of Life.

The purpose of this study is to increasing adherence with hand hygiene, contributing to the reduction of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and reducing the use of antibiotics in nursing homes.
